MOL CY CONCLUDES A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE FRENCH GROUP NEXTER

Mol Cy and the French group Nexter have signed a cooperation agreement in the framework of the CaMo (Capacité Motorisée) program for the modernization of the Belgian Army’s ground mobility capability.

The agreement between Mol Cy and Nexter, prime contractor in charge of the program, results from the intergovernmental agreement on November 2018 signed between France and Belgium that confirmed their decision to form a long-term strategic partnership in the field of ground mobility.

It covers the vehicle assembly excluding mobility equipment, the versioning, the acceptance tests and the shipment of the Belgian VBMR-Griffon that will be supplied by France to the Belgian Army between 2025 and 2030.

With this agreement Nexter broadens its cooperation with the Belgian industry. Nexter will support Mol Cy and provide it with the necessary data and training for the final assembly of the 382 Griffon vehicles.

The activity will take place at the Staden site where Mol Cy has the expertise to carry out assembly, painting and inspections on vehicles . Recently Mol Cy invested in new painting booths and will build a new workshop to expand its capacity and thereby keep the activity of this programme separate from the other activities.The technology transfer starts from now on. Production start is planned for mid-2024 and will run till the end of 2030. An additional 25 workers will be recruited for this assignment.

Staden (03/01/2022) – MOL CY is pleased to announce the completion of a management buy-out and the restructuring of the Board of Directors.

The MOL Group has developed into a leading vehicle manufacturer and supplier of machine parts with branches in Staden (BE), Kachtem (BE) and Nijmegen (NL) with over 75 years of experience and expertise in the construction of trucks, trailers and refuse collection vehicles and other industrial equipment.
The MBO initiates a new era for the MOL Group and has provided the Group with an appropriate leadership structure to enable Martin Mol’s retirement and continue to drive the MOL Group forward into the future.

The new shareholders – managing directors are Alexander Desplentere, Bram Callewaert and Lieven Neuville.
❖ Alexander (44y) has been with the company for 20 years, starting in the R&D department and is in charge of the general management of the waste collection vehicles.
❖ Bram (38y) started at MOL CY in 2006 as project leader within the truck department, after 5 years he became head of the IT department and more recently he became also responsible for the parts department.
❖ Lieven (53j) has been working in the vehicle department for over thirty years, first as project manager and later as technical sales manager.
They will continue to be closely involved in their current areas of work, in addition to the new challenges presented by the position of managing director. Martin Mol will continue to provide his vast knowledge and insight and will chair the board.

The new shareholders are pleased and honoured to continue the long-standing success of the MOL Group and thank Martin for his dedication and drive over the past 47 years and for setting up a succession plan that ensures continuity for our staff, customers and suppliers.
This is the beginning of a new period for the MOL Group, which we are confident will bring future growth and opportunities for all stake holders.

At the request of some of our customers, we have expanded our range of 4×4 RoRo tractors.

The main adjustment is a version with an elevated cabin position.

Of these, there are currently 6 vehicles in production for various customers that will be delivered through our agent in Denmark.

Since 2015, we have been working with ProTruck in Denmark. Many different 4×2 terminal tractors and 4×4 RoRo tractors have already been supplied with specific customer specifications.

First VDK truck in Denmark.

We are very pleased to announce that we delivered this week the first VDK refuse truck ever in Denmark. This first truck was delivered to RenoNorden Roskilde. The body is a VDK ECO 22/IIK with a volume of 10m³ and a CB013 bin lifter. The body has 2 compartments of 50% and on the demand of RenoNorden, we mounted a special flap so that that they can empty the split bins that are used in Roskilde since the 1^st of May. The body is mounted on a MERCEDES-BENZ ECONIC-chassis and was delivered by Ejner Hessel.

Stewart Commercials, our distributor in North Ireland, attended the CIWM SPRING CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION 2017 in Belfast this week.

Their stand was busy with a great atmosphere and there was an big interest in the VDK-product range which features some very innovative technology.

On the stand, Stewart Commercials presented also a brand new VDK refuse collection vehicle. The vehicle was a PUSHER 4000 with our industrial REL-bin lifter, the MAXLIFT/CB09 REL. This bin lifter offers the same robust design and safe operation as all the other VDK products. The MAXLIFT/CB09 REL comes as standard with a classic comb and a chain system giving operators superb functionality and flexibility on the route. With a huge lifting force, the lifter can easily handle the large skip containers. For an extreme safe operation, the MAXLIFT/CB09 REL includes a hydraulic bin locking mechanism for the large skip containers.

Special thanks goes to our customer Green Recycling which allowed us to use their most recent vehicle for the show!

VDK in Croatia

Last week our Croatian distributor Techno-Win organised a big vehicle show for all their existing and potential customers.

A lot of customers came to the show and there was a very nice atmosphere.

Our distributor has used this event also as the official launch of VDK in Croatia.

The reactions of the customers were very positive, so this sounds very hopeful for the future!

Stewart Commercials, specialist in the sales, rental business and after sales of different type of municipal vehicles, located close to Belfast in Northern Ireland and VDK Waste Systems, have agreed upon a contract in which Stewart Commercials is being appointed as the new importer for VDK’s refuse trucks in Northern Ireland.

In August, a delegation of Stewart Commercials, visited the factory of MOL/VDK, to get an overview of the company and the products. They were clearly impressed from the production facilities and the quality of the MOL/VDK product portfolio.

Nico Martyn, Sales Manager of VDK Waste Systems: We see in Stewart Commercials a key partner for the sales of the VDK products in Northern Ireland thanks to their good contacts with the local garbage collectors. Due to our daughter division, Inco-Mol, located in the heart of England, we have already more than 20 years of experience in supplying VDK garbage trucks to the United Kingdom.

Stewart Commercials was first opened by Henry Stewart in July 1974 carrying out commercial vehicle repairs and manufacturing skips. In 1980 Stewart Commercials bought its own premises in Springfarm Ind Est in Antrim. It then was a .75acre site with a 4000sq ft work shop with a purpose built wash pit area. Over the years they have added on to having a 1.1 acre site with 5000sq ft workshop and more recently they opened a new work shop within 1 mile of our existing premises, to increase their capacity. For over the past 30 years now they have been providing a service to local Councils, Home First Trust, N.I.A.S and have held long term contracts with Arval PHH, Alpha Flight services, Belfast Int Airport, VMS Iceland, ATS and have had a good working relationship with all 26 of the Northern Ireland Councils.

Stewart commercials is the original family business which continues to go from strength to strength.
